They are asking about $5000 more than NADA says it's worth, and about $6000 more than I want to spend on my future C5. Also it's a base, I think I want one with the Z51. And I don't think it has the HUD, which I really want because fighter jet

Deal with it.
Just for you, I drove the truck today, so I don't even have any snarky comment about my drive home.

That's all that matters. Hey, did you ever figure out how to add padding to your arm rest? I saw that a while back and was wondering how it came out. Or if it did.

Yeah, that didn't work out well at all. Mostly because I'm not a skilled craftsman. Someone better with upholstry than me could do it.

I have a friend that could do it for you .... but they are here and you are there. They do a lot of cross country road trips though. He used to build hot rods in SOCal. Dude is mad talented. Every time you do or attempt to do something new you learn something. Who knows, 10 years from now you may be an expert craftsman!

very cool but a word of advise for any future maitance and/performace upgrades. 98 LS1s and their respective ECMs are one year only odd balls. Just a heads up, learned the hard way after buying my 98 SS

I doubt I'll end up with a 98, for exactly those reasons. Year one cars are always risky, and it's not like in 20 years a 98 is going to be worth any more than a 99, or cost any less to purchase now.

well the ls1 was in its second year in 98 in the Vette. But problem is the aftermarket has really no support for a 98. All aftermarket heads are the later style. They will work but you have to buy more stuff, there are zero handhelds for simple tuning. You have to jump right into 700-800 dollar software to work on a 98. Althought the 98 LS1 had the hottest factory LS1 cam.
Not saying bad about them since I love mine but just a heads up when diving into the LS1 world.
